The Nyamira County government has been handed a major boost in the health sector, after a donation of medical diagnosis equipment by Germany and Finland organisations.

Speaking during the official commissioning of the equipment at the Nyamira Referral Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, Governor, John Nyagarama said that his government was prioritizing provision of healthcare in the earnestness of the 'Nyamira We Want Vision 2020.' 

"In the spirit of the 'Nyamira We Want Vision 2020, I have this afternoon received and commissioned Medical Diagnostic Equipment at the Nyamira County Referral Hospital," Nyagarama said. 

"My government has prioritized provision of healthcare," he added. 

The governor used the occasion to highlight strides his government had made to ensure it actualizes the vision. 

"Among the key projects we have undertaken is to purchase and install a 16 slide CT Scan in the referral hospital, a customised ambulatory services and recruitment of various health staff," he noted. 

The county chief directed health officials to use the facilities fervently to benefit the residents. 

During the official launch of 'the Nyamira We Want Vision 2020,' the governor expressed his government's commitment to ensure the highest attainable standard of health. His administration aims to guarantee access to well-equipped health facilities.
