The Kisii County government has promised to fight against corruption.
Speaking in Kisii town during launch of the Anti-Corruption Week on Thursday, Deputy Governor Joash Maangi said the county government fully supports efforts to combat corruption.
He said the devolved unit had partnered with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to conduct public education on anti corruption, ethics, integrity and governance.
The Anti-Corruption Week will culminate with a public meeting at the Gusii Stadium on December 9, during celebrations to mark World Anti-Corruption Day.
“In Kisii County, we have laid down an institutional framework to ensure services are brought closer to the people," Maangi said.
"To ensure our people realise their aspirations under the devolved governance system, we have made deliberate efforts to promote transparency and accountability in the management of public funds and other resources."
Recently, the county government launched a code of conduct and ethics for public officers.
All officers working in the county have been issued with copies of the document.
Working with EACC, the county launched an Anti-Corruption Policy and established a Corruption Prevention Committee.
