Two women were on Tuesday charged before a Kisumu law court over theft of Sh30,000 from their employer in Kisumu.
Agnes Wanjiru and Purity Ogolla denied the charges before Kisumu principal magistrate Harrison Adika for the offence allegedly committed on November 28, 2015.
The suspects were remanded for seven days to enable the prosecution complete its investigations.
The accused have been working as house helps for Marion Akinyi in Nyalenda area of Kisumu.
Akinyi says she safely kept the money at her bedroom , and the two are suspected to have gained access by breaking the door to the room and made away with the money.
They are said to have disappeared from the home after the offence was committed.
Upon learning that her money had disappeared, Akinyi immediately reported the matter to the police, who made the two prime suspects.
Investigations into the matter led to their arrest on December 12 in Manyatta area.
The prosecution wanted seven more days to complete the investigations, as it is believed that the two had a third person who helped them in breaking the door to the bedroom.
They also wanted more time in order to recover the money.
The matter will be mentioned on December 22, 2015.
