Residents of Nakuru County have vouched to support the planned curriculum review by the Ministry of Education.
The residents on Friday argued that the move was long overdue and urged the ministry to expedite the process so as to redeem the falling education standards in the country.
"I fully endorse the move because our education system has become irrelevant where students only cram to pass exams but cannot apply the skills acquired in real life situations," argued Eliud Mbotela a trader.
His sentiments were echoed by Goretty Ayuma an ECD teacher in Kaptembwa.
"By all standards, our education system needs a total overhaul because it is too rigid and limiting," she argued.
Pastor Daniel Mugo of the Pentecostal Church of Kenya, Nakuru West said time was ripe to do scrap off the national examinations since they were only promoting cutthroat competition and cheating.
On Wednesday while releasing the 2015 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams results, Education CS Fred Matiangi said plans were afoot to review the curriculum with a view of improving it.
