Speaking on Monday at the county headquarters when he flagged off Equity Bank's Wings to Fly scholarships awards in the county, Mbugua said it was imperative for all business premises which are being constructed to have water hydrants so that in case of a fire outbreak, it can be easily contained and put out.

"When you have open water hydrant, the fire engines work will be much easier, and that will help contain the fire menace. They shouldn't be blocked," said the county boss.

Mbugua also used the podium to pass his empathy message to the two companies that fire broke out in the recent days.

"It is a loss to the economy when fire destroys properties worth of shillings. We pray for Rumish paint company and blanket plastic factory as they count losses due to the fire that destroyed their properties," he said.

At the same time he congratulated residents who helped in putting out the fire.

On Saturday, there were fire incidents at both Rumish Paint Company and Blanket Plastic Factory which left properties worth thousands of shillings reduced to ashes.
