Kiambu County Deputy Commissioner Mr Nobert Komora has warned the youth against idling and forming illegal groups at night.
Speaking to journalists at Ndumberi on Friday, Mr Komora cautioned the youth against grouping especially at night saying police will not hesitate to arrest people found holding unauthorised meetings.
Mr Komora also warned the residents against aimless roaming on the streets saying they too will be arrested.
The deputy commissioner said that police are not going to take chances with matters of security.
“Anyone who wishes to conduct any kind discussion or groupings should do them during the day. The move is meant to enable the police hunt down criminals,” he said.
Komora said police are carrying out security operations and that youth who walk aimlessly could easily be mistaken or treated as criminals.
He asked residents across the county to continue working with the police on security matters adding that police are determined and focused on providing security in the region.
He asked residents to abide by the law and shun activities that will land them into trouble.
