Kamenu Ward MCA Elizabeth Muthoni has warned upcoming developers in Makongeni and Kiganjo estates against encroaching on feeder road reserves within the two estates saying it will be met with opposition.
Muthoni, speaking in Makongeni shopping centre on Tuesday, noted that some developers bordering some of the feeder roads in the two estates have been encroaching into them aware or unaware of the consequences.
"Some of my constituents have notified me that some feeder roads in their estates especially in Phase 6 and Kiganjo are being encroached slowly by slowly by developers. This is not going to be allowed and I am going to ask the Town County Planning Department to investigate the claims and take the appropriate action," said Muthoni.
The MCA said that the developers were for instance putting fences outside their plots hence grabbing some parts of the roads.
"If you want to enclose your plots, it should be within your space. No one has the right to a public space like a road reserve other than the public itself," she added.
In the meantime, those that have encroached the said roads have been asked to vacate the space before the law strikes.
