A section of bodaboda operators at Kibirigo market want a garbage disposal point they say is negatively affecting their business relocated.
Dennis Onchwari Gechiko, one of the bodaboda operators, said county staff have been heaping rubbish next to their parking area causing discomfort and driving away potential customers.
"The county personnel usually heap all the market dirt here next to our parking. They should relocate since it is not a dumping site," said Onchwari.
Another bodaboda operator, Kennedy Onserio said they risk contracting diseases as a result of the continued disposal of garbage that remains uncollected for weeks.
"Occasionally, this dirt is burned and we end up inhaling the contaminated air from the burning garbage. We risk getting deadly diseases if they continue this way," said Onserio.
They have called for responsible waste disposal saying collecting garbage from all over the market and dumping it on the roadside is environmental degradation.
