Kikuyu OCPD Mutune Maweu on Thursday warned cyber café owners and attendants that they will be held responsible if minors will be found accessing pornographic materials in their premises.
His warning comes after a suspect was arrested in Kikuyu on Wednesday at a cyber cafe for allegedly allowing two minors access pornographic sites.
Maweu said the police raided the cyber cafe and conducted a random inspection following a tip off from parents and found the two minors accessing the materials.
The police boss confirmed that they arrested the suspected who is now in custody.
He warned that during this December holidays, minors take advantage and access pornographic materials in cyber cafes, a move he termed as illegal.
Maweu said it was a criminal offence to allow or even sell such materials to minors.
"I want to warn cyber cafe owners against this crime as they will be held responsible if such activities are found going on in their premises," said Maweu.
The police boss also noted that there are movie shop vendors who also engage sell pornographic materials to minors.
He said anyone who will be arrested will face the full wrath of the law.
Maweu said police will conduct random checks to ensure eradicate the vice and urged the public to report to them of any cyber that is engaging in the vice.
