There was drama at Lanet Primary school during an event graced by local MP Kimani Ngunjiri when a snake stormed one of the tents.

According to an eyewitness who was attending the event at the school, the snake made its entrance just after the meeting’s opening prayers had been said.

“Immediately after the opening prayers, screams were heard emanating from one of the tents near the VIP tent and people from the tent were scampering in all directions,” reported Patrick Kinyua who added that it almost turned fatal when the tent came down on one side falling on people.

“We learnt that someone had seen a small snake and having raised the alarm, everyone was learning in all directions,” explained Patrick.

Luckily, no one was hurt at the melee and the snake was killed.

The MP was attending a function at the school in aid of the special unit that caters for children with autism where he gave a cheque of Sh800,000 and promised to provide the special unit with a vehicle before the end of the year.

Others at the function were the area tweeting Chief Francis Kariuki and the chairman of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), Joe Njui.
