Drama unfolded in a Kikuyu court on Wednesday after a 43-year-old man was accused of raping his 38-year-old wife in her house in Kikuyu.
Bonface Mwangi, appeared before Chief Magistrate James Ogweno and pleaded not guilty of the charges claiming that he only had conjugal rights with his wife and not raping her.
According to the charge sheet, through her lawyer, Grace Mweni accused her husband whom they had separated for 7 months of coming into her house and forcefully engaging her into the act.
She claimed, they had separated months ago and she didn’t recognize him as her husband but only as the father of their two sons.
She claimed the suspect went into her house under the influence of alcohol and threatened her.
It was at midnight when the accused who was sleeping on the sofa in the living room walked into the woman’s bedroom and raped her.
Justice Ogweno, however, adjourned the case for a mention February 16, 2015.
