Youths from Gesima ward in Kitutu Masaba constituency have challenged the Nyamira Government to help them to access the 30 per cent tenders so that they can generate income to better their living standards.
The youth accused the government of sidelining them saying they have not been educated on the tendering process and so are unable to apply for the contracts.
Led by Cyrus Nyasimi, a youth leader, they now want the county government to organise forums to sensitise them on how to get the tenders.
“We urge our county government to organise forums so that we can be educated on the procedure to apply for the tenders,” said Nyasimi
They also added that despite not getting the tenders they have not been given job opportunity by the county.
“From our ward it seems that the county does not recognise us, we want an equal opportunity so that we can also have some jobs in the county,” said Nyasimi
Grace Nyachama said most politicians use them during elections and promise to help them but they never fulfill their pledges once in office.
They have a vowed to not to be used by politicians who do not care about the youths in society .
