Elburgon residents have welcomed the launching of the Molo-Elburgon road construction project.
The launch to recarpet the road was done Wednesday morning by area MP Jacob Macharia and officials from the Kenya National Highways Authority at Elburgon town.
The MP said it has been a struggle to secure a construction of the road which has been in bad shape.
John Mwembe, 32, a resident, said that the road has been a menace to users.
“This road has been a nightmare to motorists and even passengers. We are happy that it will be sorted very soon,” Mwembe said.
Area MP Jacob Macharia promised that other roads in the constituency will also be constructed soon.
“We are happy today. We promised that it will be worked on and today we are here launching its recarpeting. All other roads will be constructed too,” Macharia said.
Molo residents have however complained of being neglected.
“We have been complaining of this Molo-Kibunja road and nothing is forthcoming, Molo people we are forgotten,” Emily Kariuki Mburu said.
