Former National Assembly Speaker Farah Maalim has come clear of the video doing rounds on social media which apparently shows him exchanging blows with an unidentified Somali official at the prestigious Nairobi hotel where the two had met on Thursday, September 29 afternoon.
Speaking via a post posted on his official social media pages, Maalim downplayed the video saying that it was illegally obtained, edited and circulated by a political enemy.
"Poweful & uncalled-for provocation preceded the punch up.The CCTV clip was illegally retrieved, edited&posted by senior Garissa politician. Regret," read his post.
Be it as it may, it is not clear yet why the two resolved to physical brawling despite having entered the hotel together.
