Uasin Gishu County government is committed to training fire fighters to improve service delivery.
The training will also ensure more property and lives are saved in cases of emergency.
Speaking during the launch of a two month training programme in Pioneer Home Craft on Tuesday, the County Executive for Roads, Transport and Public Works Gideon Birir said training is vital for them to be equipped with modern methods and skills to deal with fire emergencies.
"We need to be up to date with the modern methods used by other countries in dealing with emergencies which will help reduce loss of lives," he said.
Birir said plans are underway to provide every sub county with a fire sub station to curb cases of fire in the entire county.
"The construction of Maili Nne and Burnt Forest sub stations is almost complete and we will build others soon," he said.
