Billed as the greatest fresh water fish centre in Nakuru town, Pondamali trading centre has never lived to disappoint its locals.
However, that is no longer the case as fishmongers struggle to provide the lovely delicacy to its ever demanding customers owing to fish shortage that has currently gripped the market.
"Since Monday we have not been able to get sufficient fish to sell. Our suppliers have been delivering very little fish for us,"said Margaret Agolla, a fish monger.
Her sentiments were echoed by Dorcas Nabwire who said they have never experienced such a shortage especially in January.
However, according to Peter Onyango, a supplier, the shortage has been brought about by the ongoing rainfall which hinders fishing.
