Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire believes Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama will score dismally in the vote rich constituency during 2017 elections due to what he termed as 'unprecedented discrimination’ to area residents.
The relationship between the ODM national treasurer and Nyagarama has been hot and cold since 2013, with the former accusing county boss on neglecting the region in his development agenda.
Bosire, who was presiding over a fundraiser in his Magombo backyard on Tuesday rallied area residents to reject Nyagarama’s second term bid and dared to use all his resources to ensure Nyamira gets brand leadership in 2017 polls.
“I think it’s now clear that we are tired of him (Nyagarama). It will be of his best interest if he campaigns elsewhere because my people have been treated as second class citizen throughout his regime. No concrete project has ever been launched here and I want Kitutu People to go for a better candidate who we can support,” he said.
According to Bosire, the county leadership had diverted development and job opportunities to the Governor’s backyard, and slammed the county government of promoting nepotism.
“We know people who are holding county jobs and I can prove that it’s all about clans. Some clans are given a raw deal and this is the kind of leadership we do not want. Our feeder roads are poor even though his (Governor) plan appear lucrative in blue print. So we cannot lie to him him anymore because I am sure no one will vote him from this region,” he added.
Bosire however promised to give the Nyamira County boss time to finish his term and vowed to keep off from mounting pressure on him.
“I will no longer pile pressure on him because he is on record for pleading with us. But he should prepare his psychology well that this is a no go zone. People of Kitutu are tired with the discrimination,” he said.
