Youth in Gatundu North sub county have been urged to join youth groups in order to access devolved funds.

Gatundu North sub county youth officer Martin Kiragu noted on Sunday that the utilization of Uwezo funds by the youth in the county was relatively low.

Speaking after attending a youth training forum organized by his department in Kamwangi social hall, Kiragu challenged the youth to adhere to the laid down requirements when applying for the loans in order to benefit.

"There are no short-cuts, women are forming groups and youths should follow suit. The remaining Kshs. 2.5 million Uwezo funds will not be given to individuals," he told youths.

The youth officer further thanked his fellow officers for training young entrepreneurs adding that the county government of Kiambu also had further plans to train more groups on how to utilize funds and skills to improve their living standards.

The training forum was held on Saturday and concluded on Sunday afternoon where 50 selected youths both male and females from different wards were trained on entrepreneurship.
