Former Deputy President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka was commissioned on March 5, 2016 to open a school in Kangundo sub-county, Machakos county.

He was accompanied by Machakos deputy government Benard Kiala, Woman representative Dr Susan Musyoka, Kangundo Mp Maweu Katatha, Athi River Mp Patrick Makau King'ola among other leaders. 

Kyandu academy primary school is located at Kyevaluki in Kangundo sub-county. 

Speaking during the opening of the school, Musyoka said that it is his joy to open the school which is a way of embracing education. 

"I am so happy to be in Kangundo. By opening Kyandu academy primary school it means that Kyevaluki and Kangundo at large have moved a step forward," said Musyoka. 

He asked children to make good use of facilities in the school and to work hard in their studies. Musyoka also encouraged everyone present during the event and not yet registered themselves as voters to hurry and do that before deadline citing that it's the only way to vote out corrupt leaders. 

"If you are here and have not yet registered as a voter make a point of doing that before its too late. Your vote is your weapon and it will assist us vote out this government which has failed us," said Musyoka.
