The Catholic Church has started free medical circumcision exercise in Kibera.
Carried out at the DC's office, the exercise targets male children from the age of twelve years.
The exercise voluntary.
The exercise has been well received by the public who now want to circumcise their children for free.
Alex Kubasu said he is happy that the circumcision exercise has been brought near the community for free.
"I am thankful to the organisers of the exercise and I am hopefully that people will come in large numbers to be circumcised because it is good for their health," he said.
Children should however, not be forced to be circumcised he said.
"Parents should leave the children to decide on when they want to be circumcised, traditional circumcision is very involving and is not safe in this era due to HIV/Aids," he added.
"Parents should embrace this hospital circumcision to protect their young ones from Aids."
Kubasu also urged those people who are not yet circumcised to be circumcised so that they can be safe.
He termed the idea worth since schools are nearly being closed and children will be at home.
"It is the best timing whereby the children will soon be back from school for December holidays," he said.
