A gang of about five robbers broke into a dairy milk shop on Wednesday night in Katoloni, in a neighbourhood commonly known as Eastleigh in Machakos town and got away with more than Sh20,000 and other valuables.

Katoloni chief Mr Dominic Ndivo said that those who witnessed the robbery were too afraid to confront the thugs who seemed heavily armed.

"It was raining heavily when the neighbours heard the noise during the break in. One man says he peeped and saw the robbers and therefore did not dare confront them,” he said.

He said in future they should inform other neighbours and even call the police emergency number because robbery cases are increasing during this rainy season.
