Environmental degradation is a situation we grapple with daily. 

Waste disposal is never handled well, and people are predisposed to throwing litter carelessly. The litter becomes heaps of garbage that is a health hazard when left for days uncollected.

This picture is a garbage heap behind the Limuru Town garage where mechanics are busy at work repairing vehicles. The area also has tens of shops that sell motor vehicle spare parts.

The garbage heap is an eyesore to the business people and customers, but a haven for scavenging for food and other 'valuables' by the street urchins in the town.
