Gatundu North construction and development director Benson Muriithi is calling on the area residents to ensure that they seek approval from the relevant authorities before they embark on the construction of any building to avert cases of shoddy works.
"Residents should seek approval from the physical town planner, public health, and public works before their plan is forwarded to the development control committee at the county level," he said.
Speaking from Kamwangi town on Tuesday, Muriithi asked the residents to cooperate with the town cleaners and not to throw garbage in the drains so as not to clog the drainage system.
He asked the residents to utilize the garbage bins that have been put in specific areas to throw their waste material.
"We have specific modernized bins all around Kamwangi, I don’t understand how people end up littering Kamwangi. My department will partner with the environment department to arrest all residents arrested littering the town," he said.
He said that plans for the upgrading of the town bus park were underway and further assured the residents of a more spacious bus park in future.
"A modern public toilet will be constructed at Kamwangi market for use by the business community in the town to avoid the spread of diseases as well as maintaining the hygiene of the town dwellers," he added.
