Gatundu North sub county youths will benefit from enterprise funds aimed at boosting their financial status.
The sub county youth enterprise officer Michael Kiragu while releasing the funds for access to youths on Wednesday at Kamwangi youths meeting said only youths with viable projects will be given the funds to help them create jobs for others, and for their self-reliance.
"These funds will only be issued to youths who have viable projects and whose applications will go through the vetting process," he said.
Kiaru noted that 27 groups will benefit from Sh2.7 million and are expected to start re-paying the funds after a six months grace period.
"These funds have very low interest rates and will only be repaid after a grace period of six months," he added.
Kiragu urged the youths who will benefit to repay the loan in time to qualify for another one which will slightly be more than their initial disbursement.
He said the recipients will first undergo specialised training on how to use the funds and reduce the number of funds defaulters.
He urged youths to use the funds to expand their existing businesses.
