West Mugirango legislator James Gesami says his 10-year experience as an MP qualifies him for the Nyamira gubernatorial seat.
Addressing journalists on Sunday at the St Joseph Mission Catholic Church during a fundraiser towards the construction of a convent, Gesami said his development record in his constituency shows he will make Nyamira County even better.
“I have served my West Mugirango constituents for 10 years and I have initiated many development projects and that’s why I need to extend my work up to the county level so that I can initiate more projects and foster growth,” Gesami said.
He at the same time accused the current leadership led by Governor John Nyagarama of the poor development in the county.
“The truth of the matter is that Nyamira County has not developed and that is why we need residents to decide by allowing us to be in leadership so that we can develop our county, ” he said.
Gesami said if elected into office, he will prioritise the health, road sectors and electricity among others.
“All of this I have managed to improve them in my 10 years as a MP so I hope that if given this crucial chance, I will improve Nyamira County,” he added.
Gesami is the latest entrant in the Nyamira gubernatorial race.
