Speaking on Sunday evening at Getobo village in his area of jurisdiction during a funds drive in the aid of Thomas Otucho's son college fees, area assistant chief James Mogo regretted that some parents enrolled their children in sub-standard schools based on the cheap school fees charged and failed to look at the school's potential and ability to produce quality results.

Mogo challenged parents in the area to conduct surveys and compare the schools based on their performance and curriculum delivery before enrolling their children in any private school saying that some private schools were business-oriented and hardly took education of their learners seriously.

He said that having children enrolled in sub-standard private-owned schools will not only waste the parents' resources in terms of school fees but will also waste the children in terms of performance in national examinations as they will be ill-prepared for such examinations if curriculum delivery in such schools is below average.

"I am challenging parents from this area to weigh between cheap school fees for their children and quality education before they resolve to enrol their children in private-owned schools," stated Mogo.
