Gitothua Ward Representative Patrick Chege has urged youths in the Ward to shun crime and i work with him on development projects.

Speaking to youths  in Ruiru on Sunday, Chege also told youths to stay off people who might want to use them to cause violence.

He said that some people are taking advantage of youth’s unemployment to involve them in criminal activities.

The MCA urged the youth to be careful on the kind of people they interact with and also to report those influencing to join criminal activities.

“Young people should  keep off people who might want to use them as objects of violence and crime especially this festive season and instead support the development projects being rolled out by their leaders,” he said.

Chege urged youths to support their leaders on development projects instead of engaging in crime. He said the government has rolled out various development projects which he asked youths to engage in. The MCA also asked the youths to apply for development funds and improve their lives.

He said that youths have an opportunity to grow through the Uwezo and the Biashara Funds that are being given by the Kiambu government.

Chege said that youths can only better their lives if they engage in activities that will earn them decent income.

He assured Gitothua youths of his commitment to push for job creation stating that he is closely working the county and national government on employment creation.

Meanwhile, the Gitothua MCA has called for enhanced security in the area this festive season. Chege asked the police to increase patrols and guarantee residents of their safety this Christmas season.
