Little funding and lack of county harmonisation of road work plans between road network agencies are the major challenges deterring infrastructural developments in Kiambu county, Gituamba ward secretary Martin Murigi has said.

Speaking from his office on Wednesday, Murigi noted that Gituamba ward infrastructural allocated funds was very minimal to achieve the desired results.

Following this, Murigi called on the county government to purchase graders instead of relying on contractors to grade Gituamba-Mataara road.

"Roads for the county, national government and CDF should be well classified for accountability purposes. This is the reason residents in Gituamba always complain since the road is graded at group C," he revealed.

Murigi asked the county assembly to allocate enough funds for development and do its oversight role and ensure that development projects are implemented in the county.

He noted that there was a disconnect between the committee and the executive saying that the lack of coordination would derail maintenance and reconstruction of roads.

His sentiments comes a few hours after Gituamaba motorist decried the state of Gituamba-Mataara road citing delayed movement and damage of their vehicles.
