Kisumu County Assembly minority leader Joshua Auko has asked his political opponents to give him time to deliver services to the people of Ombeyi ward.
Auko said that he was given a five-year mandate which has not elapsed and appealed to his detractors to hold on their horses.
He said that he will not be cowed by the early campaigns noting that he was elected on a PDP ticket based on his manifesto.
Auko said his opponents are criss-crossing Ombeyi ward peddling rumours that he is in bad books with ODM party noting that he only decamped to PDP in 2013 after the botched party nominations.
“I call it cheap politics from my opponents, I support ODM even though I was elected on PDP ticket,” he said.
Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Saturday, the MCA said he is a shrewd politician and should not be taken for granted.
Auko said development is progressing well in his ward under the leadership of Governor Jack Ranguma.
He said more work will be done in the coming financial year and lauded the work that was done to save locals from flood water.
