There are luxuries that artistes can enjoy, being capable of spending some cash on number plates is surely one of them.
Very few artistes have the luxury of driving around town in custom-made plate numbers. The few customised plate numbers we see at events are usually stick-ons that come off as soon as they leave the events.
While many celebrities would be glad to drive cars with their custom number plates, it can be an expensive venture, reported to cost as much as Sh100 000 monthly for the license.
It was in light of this that Bahati took the plunge and requested the head of traffic police in Kenya to allow our artistes to have their custom-made plate numbers. This, he did at the launch of his single track at the KICC.
“Sisi kama wasanii tungependa sana kupewa zile number plates ziko na majina yetu ndio hata tukizunguka huku town mafans wanatuona (As artistes we would love to have customised number plates with our names on so that our fans can see us as we drive around town),” Bahati said while addressing the police head who was present at the launch of his single In Love on Tuesday.
