The  government and leaders have been called upon to implement advice given to the country by other leaders.

A section of MCAs from Kisumu County assembly said the government should implement and observe transparency to address graft in the country.

Pope Francis urged Kenyan leaders to work with ‘transparency’ to ensure a fair distribution of national resources.

He urged Kenya’s political, social and economic leaders to work with integrity and transparency for the common good after arriving in Nairobi at the start of a three-day African nations' tour.

Nominated MCA Faridah Salim said in Kisumu that the country should for ones implement the messages they have been given.

Salim said many powerful leaders come to the country, give advice but implementation is not done.

“The Pope has come with a good message just like President Barack Obama but the question is will all these be implemented?” she questioned.

She added that when such advice is taken into practice, then the country will experience changes.

Kondele MCA Gabriel Ochieng said he agreed with the Pope’s sentiments because he was emphasising what has been stipulated in Article 10(2) of the constitution that talks of national values and principles of governance.

“This includes good governance, integrity, transparency and accountability,” said Ochieng.

He said this has been widely violated by leaders across the board and the pope just cited one of the ills ailing the country and it was time to repent.
