The government will investigate claims of the existence of illegal betting joints owned by the Chinese nationals in Nakuru town and its estates.

 said he has received  claims about the betting joints, and his officers have launched investigations. 

Nkanatha promised to take action against foreigners operating illegal betting joints in Nakuru. 

Speaking in his office, the county commissioner cautioned those collaborating with Chinese nationals and other foreigners to operate illegal businesses that they Will face the law should they be found. 

"We have received the claims of some Chinese nationals who are illegally operating betting joints in Nakuru town and in some estates and we are investigating the claims,"said Nkanatha. 

"Anybody found to be engaging in that local business be it Kenyans or foreigners will be dealt with according to the law," he added. 

He called on Nakuru residents to desist from engaging in obsessive betting saying that the habit has the potential of breaking families and ruining people financially.
