The Nakuru county governor Kinuthia Mbugua has said that the county government is committed to ensuring quality and affordable healthcare to all residents.

Speaking on Friday after hosting the CEO and founder of Karen groups of hospitals Betty Gikonyo who was on a consultative mission on how the company can set up a hospital in Nakuru, Mbugua expressed confidence that the people of Nakuru will now access quality medical services which will be available at their disposal thanks to different public and private facilities.

The hospital which is expected to be constructed at the cost of 300 million Kenya shillings is approximated to have a 50 bed capacity that will accommodate both in and out patients.

“We are here today to ask the county government to allow us set up a medical center in Nakuru so that we can not only move closer to our customers but also to tap into the whole Nakuru market,” Gikonyo noted.

She further called for an accommodative working environment that will see them execute their mandate well while the residents receive the desired services.

“Being first timers in this market, we hope to beat the existing competition in a way that will satisfy our customers’ needs. All we call for is cooperation,” she added.

Governor Mbugua noted that they were looking for an appropriate location through the Ministry of Lands and the county’s physical planners further promising to offer all the needed support as far as the project is concerned.
