Governor Ali Hassan Joho has presided over the official launch of Mombasa City Polytechnic at the former Mtongwe Youth Polytechnic.
The new institution will be called Mombasa City Polytechnic – Mtongwe, the governor said on Thursday.
“The county government of Mombasa seeks to improve the transition rates in the various levels of education and also provide world class training and networking opportunities for our youth by giving them a chance to rebuild their lives through the various city polytechnics,” Joho said during the official launch.
“All the students who enrolled have received 70 per cent scholarship from the Governor’s Award Programme,” the governor announced.
Joho presented certificates to about 400 students who recently for short courses under the governor’s scholarship initiative.
