A press conference organized by the county government of Nyamira in which Governor John Nyagarama was due to address journalists on social-economic and political matters in the county has yet again been postponed.

The county boss was scheduled to address residents on Monday and postponed it to Wednesday before releasing a statement through the county secretary Mr Erick Onchana that called off the conference till next week on Monday.

Among the issues that Governor John Nyaragama was scheduled to address is his perceived strained relationship with his Deputy Amos Nyaribo, skewed tendering in the county, corruption and matters development.

“We regret to yet against postpone the press conference due to inevitable circumstances. It was the wish of Governor to address the county following request by a section of Journalists but we have rescheduled the function till Monday because the Governor is away to attend an important function in Nairobi,” read the statement.

However, a source privy to the writer revealed that Governor Nyagarama had retreated to his Borabu home to host a number of leaders to discuss his future in ODM party and the fate of his embattled Deputy.

“He left town (Nyamira) to Borabu late on Tuesday and he is hosting a number of his political confidants to discuss his future in ODM and of course his strained relationship with his deputy,” said the source who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Governor Nyagarama is said to be uncomfortable with the decision of former Kitutu Masaba MP’s intention to contest gubernatorial seat on JAP ticket since his chances are minimized in Cord as the ODM party is believed to be backing Mr Charles Mochama who finished second in 2013.
