A non-governmental organisation based in Nakuru, is seeking partnership with the county government of Nakuru to rehabilitate street children, commercial sex workers and drug and alcohol addicts.
On Friday, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua held a consultative meeting with officials from the group- Hope Restoration Initiative, together with nominated MCA Rosemary Okemwa.
After the meeting, the governor commended the initiative saying: “The group is seeking partnership with the County Government of Nakuru among other vulnerable groups in the society. The Vision is good and workable."
On a post on his Facebook page, the governor said Hope Ministries have the potential to improve public service delivery through that initiative.
“The initiative has already done a superb job in identifying critical concerns that need intervention in the society and has also gone an extra mile of establishing strategies to offer solutions” he said.
A second meeting will be held after the governor has constituted a technical team made of officials within the county government that will supplement implementation of the plan.
“In the same meeting, the initiative will be explored further to create a synergy with the Nakuru County Integrated Development Plan 2013-2017” Kinuthia said.
