A beauty queen who is also a student at St Paul’s University, Nakuru campus has joined other beauty kings and queens to promote a platform shared by Mr and Miss World Kenya County Kings and Queens to launch an academy under the mantra, beauty, brains, integrity, talent, diversity.
Grace Wanene, the former Miss Laikipia sub-county and a business and management student is an entrepreneurial genius who founded the Drawing Dreams initiative, which aims to impart children with a mindset of being environment conscious citizens.
The model, who now joins other beauty queens and kings across the country, aspires to be change agents to the society. The group under the name, Model Republik, is now inviting applications to their newly formed initiative.
According to their Facebook page, the group aims to change the course of modeling in Kenya through creation of jobs and instilling knowledge on modelling.
The initiative expects to enroll its first batch of candidates on February 1, this year. A fee of Sh3,000 will be charged to cater for registration and a nicely done portfolio with a model's card.
Also, the modelling academy will include work in fashion, including editorial, runway pageantry and work with models of both gender and age.
On their Facebook page, Models Republik, the primary focus and function is to provide a complete wide range of model selection for commercial, film, promotional representation and runway.
