A General Service Unit officer has been charged at the Molo law courts with defiling a minor and assault.
The officer is alleged to have committed the offence on January 18, 2016, after he was left to man the camp.
According to state prosecutor Mrs Evelyn Ndegwa, the accused, Constable Boniface Muenga, an officer stationed at Jolly farm GSU Camp in Molo, the officer took the three-year old girl, who is a colleague's daughter to his room and committed the heinous act, causing her health complications.
Muenga was charged with two accounts; defiling the minor and assaulting a house help who was looking after the minor.
The house help was allegedly stabbed in the stomach by the officer after she threatened to report the incident to the minor’s parents.
The court heard that the accused stabbed a lady who was left to take care of the minor with a knife leaving her with severe injuries.
However, the suspect denied the charges and was given a Sh200,000 bond or a cash bail of Sh100,000 for the defilement charge.
Additionally, a bond of Sh100,000 was given on the assault charge or Sh50,000 cash bail but the officer could not afford to raise the amount, and was remanded at the Nakuru GK Prison.
Resident Magistrate Rita Amwahi set January 29, for mention of his case and June 2, 2016 as the hearing date.
