Heavy rains experienced in Tala area in Machakos county have left the roads impassable and turned the bus stop to a pool of water.

Speaking on Monday evening, Stephen Muasya a driver complained to the County government stating that the potholes had become deeper due to ignorance of the roads ministry.

"Our vehicles are getting destroyed by the deep potholes that have not been filled with water," he said.

The drivers have called upon the roads minister Joshua Musili to ensure the potholes in the bus stop and on the roads are corrected.

The residents have also come out to blame the County government stating there was money put aside for the bus station but nothing has been done.

Speaking to Agnes Sila a resident of Tala town who also owns a shop near the stage she stated the government had given false hope to them.

"Transport has become impossible on one side of the stage.

After the government put aside funds to renovate the stage, trailers only dug the area for a month and the construction stopped leaving behind deep holes," she added.

The heavy rains were experienced on Monday evening in many parts of the country.
