Machakos county governor Dr Alfred Mutua on February 2, 2016 held a meeting in his office with Machakos level 5 hospital superintendent Dr Hellen Nzuki, Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board CEO Daniel Yumbya, Naomi Mutie the county minister for health and emergency services and Collins Sila the ministry's chief officer.
The meeting was meant to explore better ways of improving health care provision in the county.
"I will continue ensuring that Machakos county level 5 hospital remains the best county hospital in the country and there are undergoing plans to improve it to ultra-modern Referral and Teaching hospital," said Mutua.
Mutua added that Doctor's plaza construction will commence soon in Machakos town which will ease time wastage for them when on duty.
He noted that through that, Machakos county level 4 hospitals will be strengthened.
For the last one year Machakos county level 5 hospital has been termed as the best with the best treatment facilities.
