High school students are quite hard to deal with. This is because they are teens and the adolescence stage rules over them.

They want to do things and never want to be corrected. However, their actions usually land them in trouble. Things that excite them are things like school functions that will get them out of the school compound. There are rules given to them not to exchange letters or numbers with the opposite sex during those functions but they do it anyway. If you are reading this, you will readily agree that you broke all rules when in high school. This always got us in trouble for sure.

The punishments were harsh for those in tough boarding schools, for example, there was the slashing of all the grass in the field. You would be given blunt slashers and told to slash a wide garden in less than a day. Your hands would ache but remember you should not complain. There was also digging. Teachers would make you dig a whole farm. Those were truly tough times for sure. And not forgetting that if you were a group of people who have been punished, you weren't allowed to speak to each other.

Then, what if you were found sleeping in class? This applied to many students in my school. They were allowed to carry their beddings to the admission block and sleep the whole day. Remember, your face was not to be covered because every person passing by was supposed to see whoever it was who was sleeping.

The worst of these punishments, at least, for me was kneeling upright lifting your hands for more than two hours. This was not fun at all and dare you lower your hands, you would surely get it.

Those were just some of the worst punishments in school. We suffered but we can;t deny we miss them.
