A 23-year-old house help was on Wednesday charged before a Kisumu law for stealing Sh65,000 from her employer.
Hellen Achieng', however, denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Harrison Adika for the offence allegedly committed on November 26, in Milimani area of Kisumu.
Achieng' was remanded until Wednesday, December 9, when she will make a formal bail application after the initial one was denied.
The prosecution had asked the court for more time to complete the investigation saying two other accomplices were still on the run.
The court heard the accused stole the money from her employer, Catherine Awino while transporting her luggage to the Kisumu International Airport on the said date.
According to the prosecution, there was a plot to steal the money with two other people not before the court.
They urged the court to remand the accused saying she holds crucial information about the whereabouts of the other accused persons.
The accused protested the move to remand her saying that she was not feeling well expressing concern that staying in a cell will compromise her health.
Adika ordered the prosecution to ensure that she is treated first before being taken to custody
