Amani National Coalition leader Musalia Mudavadi has urged the electorate to vote him as the next President in 2017 because he is the safest bet.
Speaking during a funeral service for his brother-in-law at Kamure village in Molo over the weekend, Mudavadi urged mourners to back his bid for presidency saying that his party would make the best government that would unite the country.
The former deputy prime minister also took a swipe at both Cord and Jubilee coalitions, advising them to avoid being self conceited that a president could only come from their parties.
On whether he had signed a coalition pact with the newly formed Jubilee Party, Mudavadi played down the claims, adding that his Amani Coalition was an independent outfit.
He warned legislators who were elected on the United Democratic Forum (UDF) ticket to stop deceiving voters that he had backed their move to Jubilee Party.
MPs Benard Shinali (Ikolomani), Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East) and Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo) had earlier argued that Mudavadi was the one who took them to the new Jubilee Party.
