Deputy President William Ruto has challenged those criticising his visits to Kisii County to stop since he has a right of visiting the area for development purposes.
Speaking at Nyabururu on Sunday during the fundraising in aid of the construction of the church, Deputy President said he has a right of visiting the region for development purposes.
“There are those who are criticising my visits in this region, how many times will they want me to visit this area, I want to assure them that I will continue visiting the area,” said Deputy President.
In the same time, he asked the residents to support the Jubilee Government since their work is development, unlike the opposition which always plans for demonstrations.
“I urge residents of Gusii to support the Government for development purposes; even in the next general election we need your support so that we can move together," he added.
He added that Jubilee will form the next government hence no doubt for the community supporting the winning team.
The Deputy President also challenged Kisii county commissioner and His Narok Counterpart to set measures on how they will strength security measures at Ikolongo in Transmara border where the Kisii and the Kalenjin’s are fighting, also he urged residents in the Border to maintain peace .
“We don’t want any person from any community to come in the name of cattle rustling which generates to clashes between the two communities, the state of Ikolongo is wanting we will set measures so that we can curb the situation; We are not going to tolerate any person behind the bars,” he cautioned.
Clashes at Ikolongo in Transmara between the two communities has left people homeless as their homes are torched while other have died.
On Sunday Kisii county Governor James Ongwae visited the survivors of the attack at KTHR hospital and urged the two communities to maintain peace and order.
