Nandi Hills legislator Alfred Keter has downplayed claims that his efforts to censure Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru are driven by personal vendetta.
Speaking during a breakfast show on Radio Jambo, Keter said that claims that he was avenging the removal of former National Youth Service (NYS) Director Kiplimo Rugut by the CS were baseless and far fetched, adding that Rugut's fate had been overtaken by events.
"Rugut's removal happened last year but what we are currently seeing in the devolution docket is what has informed my initiative to have the CS take responsibility," he said.
However, Keter maintained that his protests over the removal of Rugut from NYS had been vindicated after massive graft was unearthed in the department.
"Rugut was removed simply because he refused to collude with corrupt cartels who were out to swindle funds from the department and now you can see for yourselves the mess that is going on there," he said.
He maintained that he would table the impeachment motion against Waiguru to save the country from losing millions of shillings through corrupt deals in the ministry.
The embattled CS has swore not to step aside despite calls from both Opposition and Jubilee MPs, adding that she is innocent and it is the accounting officers who should take responsibility over the scams currently being witnessed in the ministry.
