Kisumu County Women Representative Rose Nyamunga has said she will reveal her plans for future in politics early 2017.
Ms Nyamunga, who spoke to this writer on phone dismissed speculations that she will be going for the Nyando parliamentary seat saying she will be making her stand known early next year when the elections are near.
She said that currently she is concentrating on a number of programmes she has been doing to empower youth and women and that time for politics will be next year.
“We have finally been allocated some money for programmes as women representatives and that is what my mind is currently pre-occupied with and not my future in politics,” she said.
She said she has been running a poultry project for a while now and stated that she will roll out even more.
“After all these programmes are implemented successfully in the region, I will be judged by the electorate on which position I am best fit to contest for in 2017 August general election,” said Nyamunga.
A number of leaders in the county have declared interests in many seats including Kisumu Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o who is contesting against the Governor Jack Ranguma for the gubernatorial seat.
With Nyando MP Fred Outa already declaring his interest in the Senatorial seat, Nyamunga’s name had been floated to replace Outa in 2017.
