Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa has assured residents that he will expand and oversee renovation of all roads in the constituency before the next general election.

Speaking when he inspected ongoing road expansions at Kikuyu town on Wednesday, Ichung'wa said that he is keen to improve infrastructure development.

Ichung'wa intimated that proper road networks will connect the area to other regions in the county hence boost the economy.

The Kikuyu legislator said that he will use funds under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to boost infrastructure development.

"My aim is to ensure that all roads connecting Kikuyu to other towns are renovated, expanded and tarmacked before the next general election," he said, adding that several roads within the constituency are already being renovated.

He also revealed  that plans to install street lights across all major roads in the constituency are being mooted.

Ichung'wa said that residents have requested for installation of street light adding once installed they will provide a 24-hour economy.

The MP also said that sewer systems across the constituency and especially in Kikuyu Town will be renovated.

Ichung'wa said that he wants to transform Kikuyu into an economic hub within Kiambu County. The lawmaker urged the Kiambu County government to fast-track other development projects and ensure that residents have access to quality services.
