The government has been urged to immediately introduce sex education in the curriculum to ensure young people gain enough knowledge regarding the topic.
Priscah Chelegat, from Marie Stops Kenya, said sex education among young people is a major step in curbing early pregnancies and spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
"Early pregnancies together with STDs have been a major concern to most parents, the solution lies with introducing sex education in our education system,” Chelegat said.
“It will ensure that children understand matters regarding sex" she said.
Speaking to this writer on Monday, said that failure to teach school children sex matters poses a great risk to them.
"We have those trained in sex related education, we can employ their services to ensure our children get the best,” Chelegat said.
She also challenged parents to take the responsibility of educating children on matters sex.
