Kisii Primary School headteacher Mrs. Grace Nyamweya has lamented that despite parents from the Gusii region being endowed with average economic resources, they hardly spend such resources in developing their local schools as they concentrate on taking their children to schools outside the region.

Speaking to this Hivisasa writer from her office on Friday morning, Nyamweya reminded parents from the Gusii region that the schools where they take their children now were also supported by the local parents in those areas before they grew to be best academic giants.

"I am worried over why parents from this community believe that it is only schools outside this region which perform well in national examinations and academic standards; if they supported local schools the same way they support the other schools, we would be academic giants as well," stated Nyamweya.
