Youth in Nakuru will only transform the county into a business hub if they take up available opportunities instead of staying idle.

This is according to REGNOL Oil general manager Abdirizack Aress who believes that the opportunities available in Nakuru are enough for any innovative youth to make a cut into the competitive market.

Speaking in his office at the newly opened station on the Nakuru-Nairobi highway, Aress took issue with young people  who want to live a good life without working for it.

“We have pump and garage attendant jobs but youths who turn up for interviews are too rigid to take up the opportunities, I wonder kind of jobs they want,” he said.

He advised youth not to prioritise their education levels when looking for jobs, arguing that the beginning might not have a direct impact on one’s career path.

“Humble beginnings make good endings, don’t shy away from taking up a lesser opportunity just because you are a graduate in this and that field. You never know; you might meet somebody who will offer you a job in your dream career while you are at your present work station,” he advised.

At the moment, the station has employed more than 10 youth in different capacities in Nakuru, and according to Aress; the number is set to increase with time.

The station has partnered with matatu company, Mololine where all their vehicles will fuel and get serviced.
